Work with us

Our growth is your opportunity

Over recent years we’ve seen our team grow from 35 to over 160 full-time employees while continuing our commitment to the family values that have helped us get where we are today. The size of our company means our employees get the best of both worlds: the opportunity to work on large-scale, award-winning projects – within a company whose size allows it to remain truly agile, responsive and supportive.

A key strategic vision for Tomkins is to create opportunities for our people to grow – personally, professionally and financially. We do this by investing in our staff, supporting skills development, offering leadership, mentoring and providing career growth opportunities within the business – all whilst building a culture of teamwork, open communication and excellence.

Tomkins also provides support to staff in many ways, including providing a confidential, independent employee wellbeing provider – available free to all employees and immediate family members.

The most frequently heard feedback about working at Tomkins is that our people each feel like they are making a genuine contribution to the team and the success of our projects – great people are the core of our business and remain the key to our ongoing success!

Current vacancies

It takes a dedicated team to deliver the quality results Tomkins are known for, and we are always on the lookout for the right people to join our team. The below list summarises our current vacancies – if you’re interested email careers@tomkinscommercial.com.au.

Cadetships

Tomkins is proud of our cadetship program which has seen numerous students become fully qualified members of the Tomkins team. In fact, 80% of our project managers are previous Tomkins cadets who have come up through the ranks! The Tomkins cadetship program began in 1990 and is industry leading in its approach to training, mentoring, industry networking, events and experience.

Tomkins cadets typically have the opportunity to work across four work streams – estimating, projects, design and safety.

Students who are enrolled in a Construction or Design related Bachelors Degree can look to join the Tomkins Team and work as cadets on our award-winning projects – thereby learning invaluable practical skills to complement their formal education and give them a head start in a career in construction.

We’re always on the lookout for high quality cadet candidates. If you are interested, email careers@tomkinscommercial.com.au and tell us why you think you’d be a great fit at Tomkins!
