Australian Catholic University – Building T Fitout

Australian Catholic University

Banyo, QLD

Completion date

The internal fitout package of this exciting and contemporary new Post Graduate Teaching and Research Facility constructed by our Project Team enabled a seamless and controlled occupancy of the facility by the Client.

Our $1.0m project scope of work encompassed the full coordination of transport, receipt delivery, unpacking and placement of all elemental pieces across the building and all within a 10-day window. The fitout included furniture within the student ‘interactive” learning areas, placement of fitments into new Assimilation Wards, decorative screens, BUZZI screens, fixed seating and student break out areas. In addition, our team managed the receipt and placement of $400k worth of workstations from a novated supplier in accordance with the Architectural & Interior Design requirements and the installation, test & commissioning of the $700k A/V package.

“I am writing this letter as a formal recommendation . . . regarding the performance of Tomkins Commercial & Industrial Builders on the numerous projects, they have completed for the Australian Catholic University, the latest being ‘Building T” which has just won a Queensland Master Builders Award for Education Facility over $5m.There are many challenges when working on an operational campus and the Tomkins team have shown their ability to effectively address any issues that have arisen during the projects that they have completed on the Campus and I have been particularly impressed by the manner in which the site team has managed the projects and their subcontractors to lessen the impact of works on the surrounding University community. I cannot speak highly enough of the level of service, the productive relationship and the professionalism that we continue to enjoy with the Tomkins team. I have no hesitation in recommending them . . . .”-Prof. Jim Nyland, Associate Vice-Chancellor (Brisbane), Australian Catholic University
